Communication protocol enabling objects to be connected to each other over long distances and with low energy consumption.
Contact-usThis is a new communications network for industrial applications. It's a fast-growing network that offers many possibilities for the IoT. It's a promising technology that has the potential to revolutionise many sectors of activity.
Some key features of LoRaWAN
Long range : LoRaWAN signals can reach distances of up to several kilometres in urban areas and tens of kilometres in rural areas.
Low energy consumption : LoRaWAN devices can run on batteries for years, which is ideal for low-energy IoT applications.
Security : LoRaWAN uses AES-128 encryption to guarantee secure communications.
Standardization : LoRaWAN is a standardised and open protocol, which facilitates interoperability between different devices and networks.
The LoRaWAN® network architecture is deployed in a star topology in which gateways relay messages between end devices and a central network server. The gateways are connected to the network server via standard IP connections and act as a transparent bridge, simply converting RF packets into IP packets and vice versa.
Wireless communication takes advantage of the long-range characteristics of the LoRa physical layer, enabling a single-hop link between the end device and one or more gateways.
All modes are capable of bi-directional communication and multicast addressing groups are supported to make efficient use of spectrum for tasks such as Over-The-Air (FOTA) firmware upgrades or other mass distribution messages.
